About the Advanced PLDS Certification Series
UTS's Advanced Power Line Design and Staking Certification is the next step for “Certified Professionals” who have completed the PLDS Core program and seek to advance their knowledge, skills and qualifications. Each course in the Advanced PLDS Series is designed to work independently. This gives our advanced students more freedom and flexibility on their educational path.

About Adv PLDS - Session II: Joint Attachment Management
Students in this class will learn the governing principles, standards and best practices needed for managing joint attachments on electric utility structures for overhead lines. With the overall goals of ensuring safety and reliability and protecting utility interests, the course covers engineering and design topics relevant to make ready, permitting and inspections. Calculations for mechanical loading and clearances are presented in a format that challenges students to arrive at real-world solutions to common issues. The National Electric Safety Code, DOT requirements and utility standards all serve as a central theme to the course. The final exam for this course will be given online the week following in-class instruction. Course handbook provided. Proctored final exam through UTS eLearning site. Certificate issued upon successful completion of training and passing (70+) exam score.

Cancellations/No Shows/Substitutions
Registrants who cancel in writing on or before September 1, 2026 are entitled to a full refund of their registration fee. Registrants who cancel after September 1, 2026 will not receive a refund, but attendee substitutions will be allowed for this event only. Registrants and no-shows who do not cancel by September 1, 2026 are responsible for the full registration.
